LIST: BulSU Varsity Tryouts 2023

Heads up aspiring BulSU Athletes!


As the Bulacan State University (BulSU) ramps up its training for university athletes, some sports open their doors for tryouts in different fields, from athletics, team-play, to esports.


Requirements needed for the tryouts vary among different sports of choice, with the main requirement being that of a bona fide BulSU student.


Other sports, such as Basketball, Table Tennis, and Volleyball, among others, had recently concluded their tryouts, but fret not as slots for other sports are still accepting registrants and trainees.


Here are the following sports that are still open for tryouts and training, with their corresponding schedule and details:


Arnis



BulSU Arnis Team is conducting their open training for aspiring players every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturdays at BulSU Lawn Tennis.


This is only open for all BulSU students, especially first-year students. Interested trainees may reach out to following contact persons for inquiries:



Athletics



The BulSU Athletics Team is inviting those interested to join in their open training during Tuesday and Thursday at 5 AM for Weights, Wednesday and Friday at 4 AM for Road Run, and every Monday to Thursday from 4 PM onwards for their PM schedule.

Basketball Women’s



The BulSU Women’s Basketball Varsity is still accepting athletes for their tryouts every Monday to Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 AM at BulSU Activity Center.


This tryout is open to all bonafide students from BulSU. You may reach out to following persons for inquiries:



BulSU MLBB Women’s



Safyr Valkyrie, the university’s official representative for women’s MLBB, are still looking for more players for their roster until Sunday, September 10, through online forms.


Applicants must be ranked MYTHICAL HONOR AND ABOVE. Solo tryout applicants must be MULTI-ROLE PLAYERS, while a WHOLE TEAM OF FIVE is needed for team tryouts.

BulSU TOP Esports



BulSU TOP Esports are still on the lookout for teams to compete in the 2nd season of ASCEND to the TOP tournament until Thursday, September 7 at 11:59 PM through the accomplishment of online forms.


Game titles such as League of Legends, Call of Duty: Mobile, Valorant, Mobile Legends, Wild Rift, and DOTA 2 are available in the said tournament.

Chess Men and Women



The BulSU Chess team is set to hold a tryout for both men and women categories on Saturday, September 9 at 9:00 AM. The venue for this event will be announced.

The venue for tryouts for Chess to be held tomorrow, September 9 at 9 AM is confirmed to be at the 4th Floor AVR of CICT at Pimentel Hall according to Coach Cielito Sanchez. Please be guided accordingly. Dancesport



Graceful enough to compete? Tryouts for the BulSU Dancesport team will be held on September 16, 23, and 30 from 1 - 5 PM at Valencia Hall. Please bring an all-black attire to join.

Futsal



The tryouts for Women’s Futsal held every Monday and Wednesday from 5 PM - 8 PM and every Friday 8 AM - 11 AM at the BulSU Activity Center will be for the selection of the varsity team for SY 2024-2025.


The general requirements needed to be a part of the BulSU Women’s Futsal varsity is to be a bonafide BulSU Student, may it be from the Main or External Campuses, Freshmen students are also preferred.

Taekwondo



The Taekwondo team of BulSU is still conducting tryouts for all students with knowledge and experience on the sport. Tryouts are scheduled every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9 AM to 12 PM at the BulSU Activity Center.

UPDATE: Training days for aspiring Taekwondo athletes of the University is every Monday from 5 - 7 PM, and every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 - 7 PM.
